How do you handle failure, especially in a team setting?
Failure, especially in a team environment, is never easy—but I believe it's one of the most powerful learning experiences. Whenever I face failure as part of a group, my first instinct is to analyze what went wrong without pointing fingers. I focus on identifying areas for improvement—both individually and collectively—and work towards constructive solutions.
During my time at one of the best defence coaching in Dehradun, we often worked in teams to simulate real-world defence scenarios. In one such exercise, our group failed to meet the target in a timed obstacle course. Instead of blaming each other, we sat down, discussed the gaps in our coordination, and adjusted our strategy for the next round. By turning our failure into feedback, we not only improved our performance but also strengthened our team bond.
The military is all about teamwork and resilience, and I’ve learned that accepting responsibility, staying calm, and pushing forward with a growth mindset is the best way to handle setbacks.
